Family Open Lab: Future Laboratory Quantum

Drop-in workshop

What can be in many places at the same time or simply pass through walls? Sounds like magic, but it's a physical phenomenon: welcome to the crazy world of quanta! There is already more quantum physics in our everyday lives than we realize. And in the future, quantum technology could fundamentally change the way we communicate, research and solve problems.

You can immerse yourself in quantum physics at the interactive stations in the Futurium Lab. With puzzles, games and short explanatory videos, you will discover phenomena and technologies and understand the importance of quantum physics for our society. By the end, you'll realize that quanta aren't as far away as you thought. Our mentors will accompany you at the stations and answer your questions. Unlike our traditional workshops, the drop-in format is open. You will need about 20 minutes for your first explorations into the world of quanta. If the lab is particularly busy, you may not be able to try out all the stations straight away. So stay flexible and take the opportunity to explore other exciting topics!

This offer is sponsored by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation.
