Many of the photographers featured in the exhibition *New Woman, New Vision: The Bauhaus Photographers* also produced films. Indeed, twelve female Bauhaus students created their own independent cinematic works. Two of them collaborated as co-authors on seminal works of the German film avant-garde—without receiving any credit or recognition for their contributions. Working within symbiotic personal and professional partnerships, they infused these projects with the Bauhaus’s new visual vocabulary. Others arrived at the medium of film through their engagement with photography, crafting political and essayistic explorations of leisure, social inequality, and metropolitan life. Predominantly documentary in style, the collection includes just a single short fiction film—shot entirely with non-professional actors. What unites these works is a shared interest in modernity, the *Lebensreform* movement, and gender equality. Featuring film excerpts by Erna Niemeyer, Lore Leudesdorff, Ivana Tomljenovic, Ella Bergmann-Michel, Ellen Auerbach, and Grete Stern.
