The play addresses the themes of peer pressure among men and sexual boundary violations, focusing specifically on an allegation of rape and the toxic male loyalty that often silences the voices of victims. The performance raises fundamental questions such as: How to address boundary violations and violence against women within male groups? What do men gain by avoiding this dialogue? How to overcome the taboos surrounding the topic? While this play is primarily directed at men, would it be possible to engage anyone else with these critical issues in a public discussion? With the aim of fostering a better understanding of these dynamics, stimulating debate, and exploring pathways toward taking responsibility, WENDEMÖGLICHKEIT(Turning Point) features five male characters who appear vastly different from one another but who suddenly find themselves at the same point of convergence—and crisis.
In addition to the performance, the group is offering a laboratory to aesthetically explore the topic of toxic masculinity. Attending the performance is recommended for those interested in taking part in the Männerwendeworkshop( Men’s Transformation Workshop), where men are invited to collectively search for new, non-violent and supportive ways of “being men”.
