TO GET TOGETHER

TO GET TOGETHER

Based on the true stories of people fighting for housing, the performance portrays situations that expose the structural injustices of Berlin's real estate market. TO GET TOGETHER opens with a non-verbal choreography depicting a slow, progressive process of fear-mongering, the silencing of dissident voices, and the embrace of isolation as a means of self-protection. Blue, a young dreamer with a compassionate spirit, takes an interest in uncovering how these mechanisms function and understands that they are powerful strategies of political domination. Blue tries to warn the people around, but the arguments used do not seem to convince them. However, when the home of Blue and some friends is put at risk due to real estate speculation, this conceptual abstraction concretizes as an existential necessity. From this understanding is born a strong movement of resistance that seems unbeatable. Unfortunately, every new obstacle erected by speculators reveals weaknesses of the movement. Blue recognizes the need to re-establish internal dialogue and re-evaluate the effectiveness of the tactics implemented. To Blue's despair, it becomes evident that the group of activists is tainted by the strategies of their oppressors. Would it be possible to create spaces where people affected by rising rents and displacement can transform their experiences into political agency?
