On a late summer weekend, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden opens its doors to celebrate the new season with all the members of the chorus and orchestra, the stage, costume and make-up departments, and curious visitors of all ages. Whether you are an opera or ballet connoisseur or a newcomer to the world of opera and ballet, the programme for the popular Opening Parties offers exciting behindthe- scenes glimpses, information about premieres and rehearsals, lots of music to listen to or make yourself—and, of course, ballet! At 12:30 pm, Iana Salenko and Kalle Wigle will be rehearsing the Black Swan pas de deux on stage with Ballet Master Yannick Sempey and pianist Da Yun Choi – and at 4:30 pm we invite you to join us for a Ballet Class Up Close with Ballet Master Barbara Schroeder and Pedro Sanchez at the piano.
