PLATFORM 14

PLATFORM 14

Platform 14 is an annual international dance festival that challenges traditional boundaries of genre and form. Selected dancers and choreographers present their contemporary, urban and experimental dance pieces on an equal footing.
This year’s edition brings together works that navigate the space between intimacy and community, exploring themes such as identity, memory, perception and the shifting dynamics of our contemporary world. From poetic reflections on current affairs and social structures to physical explorations of togetherness, transformation and resistance, the program unfolds as a multi-layered dialogue between diverse experiences.
Over three evenings, spaces for encounters will be created, where vulnerability, humor, dialogue, curiosity and critical reflection meet artistic expression.
This year, Platform 14 opens with the Alumni Night: following an internal selection process, three groups from last year’s open call return to present new and longer pieces.

My piece of paper: One piece of paper (JPN)
A single sheet of paper becomes the starting point for movement, memory and imagination. In this first collective work by My Piece of Paper, performers transform paper through personal expression, gradually unfolding a shared journey like a chain of origami cranes.

SilentShout Co: No News (UK/ES)
Who is reporting on reporting? A waving dancer and a ball juggler take on the challenge, laying focus on the state of journalism in the modern world and our relationship to news stories. An abstract and poetic piece, punctuated by absurd humour. “No News” is good news.

Frantics Dance Company: Last Space (ES/IT)
Last Space is a choreographic work that delves into the performers’ most personal stories, unfolding within a constant flow of events. The observer witnesses how the performers unravel and merge fleeting moments, almost like in a dream. Situations collapse and reform without adhering to a traditional narrative structure. Last Space aims to connect with the audience on an emotional level, inviting them to feel through movement.
