Dancer – Zwei Frauen sich gegenseitig die Augen zuhaltend

Over the past several years, artist Netta Weiser has been listening to moving bodies through microphones, loudspeakers, and radio transmissions, as part of her long-term project Radio-Choreography. After years of listening to dance through sonic technologies, this new work asks how listening itself can be choreographed and performed.

Here, choreography emerges through acts of listening rather than seeing. Voice becomes a form of touch, and attunement a way of moving together.

At the core of the work are choreographic interpretations of listening scores by U.S.-American feminist composer Pauline Oliveros, drawing from her exploration of collective listening as an embodied, political, and activist practice. The title of the piece, The Skin Listens Too, is a quote from Oliveros.
