A poetic exploration of the first defining moments of fear, dreams, failure, triumph and self-confidence. Hip-hop dance expresses what words cannot, entering into a sensory dialogue with text, video and street art.

Production and Ensemble

LA PREMIERE FOIS (“The First Time”) is a dance theatre production that brings together hip-hop, theatre, music, lighting and video to create a sensory and deeply human experience. The performance explores formative moments: first fears, dreams, failures, triumphs and the growth of self-confidence. In LA PREMIERE FOIS, EMMATHEO expresses what words cannot. Hip-hop dance enters into dialogue with theatre, gesture and silence, creating a poetic and universal narrative.

Lighting and video accompany the emotional journey, transforming the stage and expanding the audience’s imagination. Inspired by street art, the visual palette shifts with the changing emotions, moving from joy to self-reflection.

Beyond the performance itself, LA PREMIERE FOIS celebrates connection, the passing on of experience, and the sense of wonder that accompanies every first time. It is a visual and emotional journey that explores how each new beginning shapes who we become.

Among the emerging talents shaping the future of urban dance, EMMATHEO has already established itself as a duo to watch. Emma and Theo Pinger, siblings from the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean, are distinguished by a unique artistic identity that combines energy, sensitivity and a deep familial connection, evident in every one of their performances.
