Happy Jubilee – Eine Tanzrevue zum Jubiläum

To mark its 30th anniversary, the Studio für Historischen Tanz is bringing historical jubilee celebrations to life through dance and storytelling:

In London in 1929, a suburban theatre is in the midst of frantic preparations: the aim is to celebrate the royal couple’s upcoming 20th jubilee in style with a dance revue. Now they must agree on which others great royal jubilees would be suitable as dance performances for the upcoming event. Whether wardrobe assistant, director, actor or ticket seller – everyone has their own opinion on this.

The choreography recalls the jubilees of famous English monarchs – Elizabeth I, George II and George V. Set against an entertaining narrative backdrop, dances from the Renaissance, the Rococo period and the 1920s are performed in magnificent costumes and with varied choreography, bringing the past back to life.

---DAS STUDIO FÜR HISTORISCHEN TANZ BERLIN (SHT) E. V. has a wide-ranging repertoire of dances from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Empire, Biedermeier, Gründerzeit and 1920s eras, which is constantly being expanded in line with historical sources, and revives the atmosphere of each period through its staging. Since 1996, the SHT has regularly performed full-length programmes and offers further programmes for private and public festivities.
