From the Portuguese (*Desmatar*): to uproot or clear away vegetation. *Desmatar* plays with spaces and places; it interacts with the people and structures surrounding us and disrupts these spaces, creating dialogues and vanishing points within them. It is a piece that adapts to every location and scene, regardless of the specific conditions or constraints involved.”

Desmata is the cry of an iceberg, a thawing of lamentations, a massive bubble of carbon dioxide laced with human pollution. It is the ultimate crop of thoughtlessness sown by man. Desmata is the death of the planet’s last tree; Desmata is the last gorilla, the last chimpanzee, the last orangutan, the last woolly monkey trying to save—to embrace, to cling to—a tree that is already dead inside, even while retaining some of its greenery and foliage.

Desmata is a human, a chango and a changüito, as well as a plant and a little bird. *Chango = Monkey
