Cinderella

Das romantische Märchen vom Aschenputtel gehört zu den schwungvollsten und schönsten Ballettkompositionen.

An enchanting fairy-tale ballet! The libretto is based on a well-known and beloved fairy tale: the romantic love between a hardworking and virtuous servant girl and a prince, the blossoming and unfolding of their love, the obstacles they face along the way, and the fulfillment of a dream.

Cinderella is humiliated and tormented by her wicked stepmother and selfish stepsisters, who force her to work as a servant. Hard labor and harsh words accompany the kind-hearted and selfless girl through her daily life. A fairy godmother grants her deepest wish: to dance at the royal ball. In a beautiful gown, unrecognized yet admired by all, she enchants the court and, above all, the prince. The twelfth stroke of the clock ends this spell, and Cinderella hastily leaves the ball. In her flight, she loses her dancing shoe, allowing the enamored prince to seek out and find his chosen one.

In its imaginative production, the ballet ensemble from Naples brings new, dazzling colors to the old legend. Despite its fundamentally conservative approach to classical ballet—in the best sense of the word—the performance is modern, thanks to the innovative set design and perfectly crafted costumes. The language of classical dance, with its fluidity, is masterfully blended with the expressive forms of modern dance.
