Lotte Reiniger made film history one hundred years ago: She created the first full-length animated film with »The Adventure of Prince Achmed«, a master work of paper cuttings and imagination. On the 100th anniversary of the premiere, Katrin Rothe and Rike Reiniger present a lecture performance that places the spotlight once again on Reiniger’s life and her art. A fascinating mixture of theater, live camera and puppet theater is created on stage through projections, cut-out animation and documentary scenes. The performance will be accompanied by improvisations in the style of 1920s film music by the jazz musician Nik Phelps, who has already performed with giants such as Tom Waits and Frank Zappa.  Notes on accessibility: Information about the accessibility of the venue in structural terms can be found here.
