Suli Puschban writes songs about topics that children really care about: panic and courage, female superheroes, friendship, mums, diversity – and much more.
Her songs encourage kids to make their own decisions, to stand up for themselves when necessary, and to find their own path.
In her concerts, she rocks the stage together with the Kapelle der guten Hoffnung – and gets the audience singing, dancing and feeling along with her.

Suli Puschban
She is a phenomenon.
A one-of-a-kind figure on the music scene.
Charming, witty, profound.
The rebel of children’s music.
Poetic, witty, politically topical and at the peak of her musical powers, Suli takes the whole family on a journey to outer space and back with her music. From rock to folk, swing and samba to reggae. She is the heroine of primary school children, the favourite songwriter of committed parents and the woman who met Princess Lilifee. The only female frontwoman of a rock band in the German-speaking children’s music scene sings out loud: ‘I’ve had enough of pink!’

Die Kapelle der guten Hoffnung
Maike Scheel
Electric bass, double bass, composition, band coaching, bass lessons
The heartbeat of any band is the bass, and in Die Kapelle it’s played by Maike. Without her, Die Kapelle wouldn’t exist in this form or with this sound. It’s not just her bass that breathes life into the band, but also her cheerful and open-minded approach to life. Maike and Suli met in 2008, and Maike said straight away: “Children’s music? I’m in!” Since then, they’ve been happily rocking stages across the German-speaking world. Maike plays in many genres, from Latin, swing and jazz to rock and pop; she also accompanies musical productions and supports the band as a band coach.

Mathias Kastner
freelance guitarist, author and teacher
Whether it’s a solo or finding the right sound, Mathias has the answer to every question about the electric guitar and has been playing enthusiastically with the Kapelle der guten Hoffnung for many years. Whether in musicals or theatre productions, teaching future guitarists or working the strings with nimble fingers on whatever stage, Mathias lives and breathes rock ’n’ roll and shows children just how hot a cool electric guitar can be.

Hannes Dullinger
Drummer
Also known as Sgt. Pepper, Hannes was the first drummer of the Kapelle der guten Hoffnung and also oversaw the production of the band’s two albums. His distinctive punch, his feel and his experience have had a decisive influence on the band’s sound. He is the only drummer who occasionally stands up, comes to the front, gives instructions to the audience or tells a joke. What’s more, like Suli, he comes from Austria, and when the two are together, they sometimes speak in dialect.
Sebastian Müller
Drummer
Sebastian is the drummer who brings some real punch to the band’s live concerts. He comes from a village where everyone played in the brass band – including him – though not on a brass instrument, but on the drums. From there, he moved to Los Angeles, where he completed his studies, before coming to Berlin. He drums enthusiastically across all genres, is in high demand, but is the number one drummer in the Kapelle der guten Hoffnung.
Judith Rummel
Bassist
Judith is an electric and double bass player; she loves making music with different people and communicating through her instruments. Whether it’s a steady groove or free improvisation, Judith’s rhythm section really rocks. She has been working as a freelance musician since 2010, enjoys touring extensively both at home and abroad, and particularly loves doing so with the Kapelle der guten Hoffnung!
