Pierre-Laurent Aimard’s solo recital represents a particularly auspicious combination of program, artist, and venue. While bringing together some of the central aspects of his artistic activities, the French pianist’s concert also connects the past and the present. Alongside works by Bach and Schumann, Aimard performs Schoenberg’s Five Piano Pieces and a selection of György Ligeti’s Études, several of which he premiered and collaborated on with the composer.
