The organ meets electronics, percussion, and voices: Music students explore new sonic spaces and sounds.
In “Orgel plus,” the organ engages in an open dialogue with live electronics, percussion, and voices. This gives rise to new sonic spaces and surprising musical encounters. Specifically for this concert format, students from the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music, among others, are developing electroacoustic works and new ways for the organ to express itself.
Important: Seating is limited for concerts at the museum. The ticket is valid for admission to the concert but does not guarantee a seat.
About “Manuale des Jetzt”
The concert series, part of “Nikolai Music on Friday,” accompanies the special exhibition “Chorus” at St. Nicholas Church. Curated by composer and organist Alexander Moosbrugger, it presents the organ as a contemporary instrument. The title refers to the manual—the keyboard of an organ played with the hands. Focusing on various themes, the concerts combine contemporary music with Berlin’s urban and intellectual history. They address current social issues and showcase the organ as an instrument of the present.
