This program does not focus on well-known names such as Camille Saint-Saëns or Max Reger, whose works provide the main framework for this organ recital.
Rather, the spotlight is on the harmoniously coordinated miniatures by Nadia Boulanger and Philipp Maintz. At Angela Metzger’s request, Maintz composed a cycle of short organ pieces specifically for the concert hall, whose structure and charm are particularly highlighted in combination with Nadia Boulanger’s Trois Pièces. One of these three pieces will even receive its world premiere at today’s concert.
