Kammermusik des Konzerthausorchesters
It is said that the melodies of Johannes Brahms’s wonderful “Trio for Horn, Violin and Piano” came to him during a walk in the Black Forest in the summer of 1865. Its four movements contain passages that can be interpreted as contemplations of nature, as well as passionate outbursts and moments of deep sadness. Our First Concertmaster, Suyoen Kim, and Principal French Horn player, Dmitry Babanov, have invited Ben Kim to accompany them on the piano. Prior to that, they will each perform a duet with him: Clara Schumann’s “Romances” from 1853, which have since regained a firm place in the chamber music repertoire, and Paul Dukas’s cheerful yet highly challenging “Villanelle” from 1906. Furthermore, Ben Kim will contribute Chopin’s fourth and final Ballade.
