With boundless enthusiasm, Akamus turns its attention to an iconic work of the Baroque era: Antonio Vivaldi’s four concertos, “Le quattro stagioni”, depict the changing seasons through sophisticated musical imageriy - from the shimmering heat of summer to the biting cold of winter. In each of the four concertos, an Akamus concertmaster will perform as soloist.The winner of numerous awards, performing all over the world and long celebrated on our stage for its subscription series: the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin is as renowned for its authentic sound as it is for continually unearthing musical treasures from the 17th to the 19th centuries and presenting familiar works – from Bach, Handel and Telemann to Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven – in a fresh light.
