The joint choral project with the RIAS Kammerchor is always a highlight of our Akamus series: Handel’s highly expressive oratorio “Belshazzar” blurs the boundaries with opera.The winner of numerous awards, performing all over the world and long celebrated on our stage for its subscription series: the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin is as renowned for its authentic sound as it is for continually unearthing musical treasures from the 17th to the 19th centuries and presenting familiar works – from Bach, Handel and Telemann to Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven – in a fresh light.
