Sunday Shopping Dates in 2026

The first two 2026 dates for the Sunday openings on which shops will be open for business have been set. Note: So far, only the Sunday openings for the first half of the year have been decided. Further dates will follow.

Please note: The special regulation on Sundays open for business in Berlin does not imply any obligation to keep stores open. Individual stores in large shopping centers can therefore also remain closed. As a general rule, sales outlets may not open on two consecutive Sundays and only on a total of two Sundays per month.

Individual Sunday Openings

On the occasion of special events, in particular company anniversaries and street festivals, retail outlets may open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on two further Sundays or public holidays in the year. These individual Sunday openings are communicated to the responsible district office in advance.

Shopping Centers open on Sundays

Many large shopping centers in Berlin open several times a year on a Sunday of their choice. The shopping centers are then usually open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., some even until 7 p.m. The dates for 2026 at a glance.
