Spandau Citadel
The only preserved Renaissance fortress in Northern Europe is located in Spandau, which was still an independent city at the gates of Berlin at the time of its construction. The Spandau Citadel, the oldest secular building in Berlin, was built in its present form in the 16th century, but individual parts are older.
