The state of Berlin wants to attract more start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence to the capital and ensure better networking among companies.
A new central contact point for the development and application of artificial intelligence has also been opened for this purpose - the #ai_berlin hub in Alt-Treptow. "We need a place where we can showcase what is possible in Berlin together with our partners. This is where everyone comes together," said Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey (SPD) at the opening.
The AI Hub is intended as an open offer for all players who develop and apply artificial intelligence in Berlin - from start-ups to established companies, research institutions and the administration. The aim is to make Berlin's AI expertise visible and to position the city globally as one of the leading AI locations.
Giffey emphasized that the capital is currently the most important location for AI start-ups in Germany, ahead of Munich. The hub will initially be located at the CIC Berlin innovation and start-up campus. The initiative is being implemented by the business development agency Berlin Partner. In 2025, 725,000 euros will be available for the project in the economic administration's budget. This is start-up funding. Berlin Partner has been entrusted with the task of developing an independently viable hub.
