The topics of diversity, equality and inclusion should be given even more attention in the Berlin administration.
This is the result of the evaluation report on the Diversity State Program 2.0, which Finance Senator Stefan Evers (CDU) presented to the Senate. This was announced by the Senate Chancellery. The financial administration is responsible for personnel issues within the Senate.
The state of Berlin wants to impress as an attractive employer with equal opportunities for all employees. "Our goal is clear: Berlin must be able to compete for the best minds. To do this, we need attractive framework conditions," said Evers. "Living diversity is a central component and strategic success factor, because ultimately it's about ensuring that everyone in Berlin enjoys working successfully in the administration," said the Finance Senator.
It is crucial to find enough applicants for administrative positions in the coming years. For example, there should also be a greater focus on skilled workers with educational qualifications acquired abroad for the civil service. As an employer, the Berlin administration must also keep an eye on demographic developments and the associated higher average age of the population. Accordingly, flexible working models and health support services that are geared towards the different phases of life and needs of employees are becoming more important.
