The IFA technology trade fair and the Berlin trade fair company have reached an agreement on the future of the IFA trade fair in Berlin until at least 2034.
The contract was symbolically signed by the head of the IFA management company, Leif Lindner, trade fair boss Mario Tobias, and the managing director of GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH, Sara Warneke, at the opening ceremony of this year's edition.
"This means that what belongs together stays together," said Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) at the event. "Thanks to IFA, Berlin has become one of the most attractive locations for the digital and entertainment industry in Europe." Once again this year, around 1,900 exhibitors will be presenting their innovations in the fields of home electronics, gaming and digital health. The gates open for visitors on Friday at noon. The IFA runs until Tuesday inclusive. Around 200,000 visitors are expected to attend.
