Tiergarten tunnel completely closed from Monday to Friday

Tiergartentunnel

Drivers in Berlin will face new restrictions in the coming week.

The Tiergartentunnel in the centre of the city will be completely closed due to construction work from Monday (16 June), around 10.00 am, until Friday (20 June), around 6.00 pm, according to the traffic administration.

Drivers should avoid the area around the tunnel

The reason for this is scheduled maintenance and repair work "to ensure operational and traffic safety in the long term", it said. "Due to the extensive work on critical safety systems, the tunnel must be closed to all road users at all times, both during the day and at night, for safety reasons." Access to the Berlin Hauptbahnhof multi-storey car park via Clara-Jaschke-Straße will remain possible. It is recommended to bypass the area as far as possible.
