The police have announced extensive security measures and traffic restrictions due to the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Berlin today (Wednesday, May 28, 2025).
There will also be restrictions on the S-Bahn. The German government officially confirmed the Ukrainian president's visit on Wednesday morning.
From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. there will be closures due to the state guest, especially in Tiergarten, according to the police. Roads will be closed. There will be barriers and police on access roads. Drivers should avoid the areas and drive around as far as possible.
Trains on S-Bahn lines may run less frequently at times on Wednesday. Deutsche Bahn announced that the visit could lead to "route closures on the S-Bahn network ordered at short notice by the security authorities". Passengers should therefore expect delays and cancellations. The S-Bahn will provide information at short notice on its Internet channels.
