There are three new parking options for Berlin residents. The resident parking permit can now be extended online, as announced by the Senate Chancellery.
If it is lost, a replacement card can be applied for online. And if you change your vehicle and license plate number, this can also be arranged without an appointment at the Bürgeramt (citizens' office) via the Berlin Service Portal.
It was already possible to apply online (Website in German) for the resident parking permit, which is subject to a fee and valid for two years. According to the Senate Chancellery, 26,285 permits were issued online in the first three months of the year. According to the data for 2025, the online issue rate is 78.6 percent. This is also a relief from the authorities' point of view: "We have saved one appointment at a citizens' office for every single digital application," says Martina Klement, State Secretary for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization. "And every additional new online service helps us to further relieve the burden on citizens' offices."
