The police are looking for witnesses in connection with the New Year's Eve fireworks incidents in Berlin.

To this end, the officers set up a tip-off portal on the Internet. They are asking "for help regarding the incidents on New Year's Eve", the police announced - i.e. possible video recordings and information about the perpetrator or the crime.

Eight people injured in Tegel

Specifically, it concerns the explosion of a ball bomb, in which a child was critically injured, and two other cases. Eight people were injured in the incident involving the ball shell fireworks in Tegel at around midnight on New Year's Eve. A seven-year-old boy was critically injured and had to undergo emergency surgery. According to the police, he is receiving intensive medical treatment.

36 apartments temporarily uninhabitable

In another incident on Prenzlauer Allee, a police officer was seriously injured in the leg after unknown persons shot "a pyrotechnic object" at police officers. The third incident involved an explosion in Vorbergstraße, the force of which severely damaged house facades and cars. Many windows were broken. According to the fire department, 36 apartments were temporarily uninhabitable and several people were injured.
