Under the motto "repair, don't throw away", an internet platform has been launched in Berlin that displays repair options for computers, bicycles, toys and many other items.
The platform - called "Repami" -, was launched by the Berlin Senate, the non-profit foundation "anstiftung", the Berlin city cleaning service and the Berlin Chamber of Crafts.
The platform lists both commercial craft businesses and voluntary initiatives such as repair cafés. There, consumers can repair their items themselves under supervision, either free of charge or for a donation. Users can select a product category on the platform and then find the nearest repair centre on a map of Berlin. Repami aims to help reduce waste and extend the life of products.
