Stormy weather awaits people in Berlin and Brandenburg on Friday. The German Weather Service (DWD) is again forecasting heavy gusts of wind and storms.
After a light wind in the morning, the wind will pick up in the early afternoon. The weather experts are expecting wind speeds of between 50 and 70 kilometres per hour. Locally and briefly, individual heavy squalls of around 90 kilometres per hour are possible during the afternoon. The DWD issued a warning of squalls between 2 and 8 pm.
From midday, rain, heavy at times, will move towards Poland by the evening. This will be followed by clearing. Temperatures will reach a high of between seven and nine degrees. The wind will gradually weaken at night. It will remain dry and cool down to four to two degrees.
The weekend will begin with cloudy, partly clear skies. The cloud cover will increasingly open up from the south-west as Saturday progresses. It will not rain. The wind will still be moderate, with isolated gusts in eastern Brandenburg until the early afternoon. With changeable cloud cover, it will cool down noticeably on Sunday night. The weather experts are expecting widespread frost. The temperatures will drop below freezing to minus three degrees. Sunday will be mostly clear and dry. Areas of cloud will move across the country. Only a light wind will be blowing. Highs will be between five and eight degrees.
