The Berlin administration is offering more and more services online. The offer will be significantly expanded in the coming months.
Currently, citizens can complete more than 250 services online. Especially frequent are applications for birth certificates and orders for residents' parking permits. Further services are to be added in the coming months. In addition, a digitisation dashboard will visualise the implementation status of the various digitisation projects of the state of Berlin in the future.
According to the Berlin Senate Chancellery, the trial phase for electronic residence registration will start in autumn. Around 500,000 appointments at citizens' offices can potentially be dispensed with as a result. Online applications for naturalisation, housing entitlement certificates, income certificates or the digital registration certificate are also planned. Martina Klement, State Secretary for Digitalisation and Administrative Modernisation and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of the State of Berlin, emphasised the relief for the offices through the online service: "We are thus on the right path to gradually providing Berliners with more digital citizen services and at the same time relieving the employees in the offices."
