S-Bahn lines S41 and S42 interrupted after cable fire

Berliner Ringbahn

Following a cable fire in the Wedding district, train service on Berlin's S41 and S42 Ringbahn lines remains disrupted this Thursday morning.

As the S-Bahn Berlin announced on Twitter, the section between the stations Beusselstraße and Wedding is affected. On the rest of the route, the lines run every 10 minutes, according to the information. Because of the cable fire, train service has already been restricted since Wednesday evening. The fire was reportedly caused by vandalism.

Change to other lines and bypass affected area

It remains unclear how long the restriction of the Ringbahn will last. The subway lines U6 and U9 as well as the bus line 106 can be used for a bypass. For a wide bypass, the S-Bahn recommends the S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S25, S26, S3, S5, S7 and S9.
