Drinks, retreats, sunscreen: Homeless people in Berlin can take advantage of additional help to protect themselves from the hot weather during the summer months.

From the beginning of June until the end of August, several projects are funded within the framework of heat relief, the Senate Department for Labor, Social Affairs, Equality, Integration, Diversity and Anti-Discrimination announced on Monday. They will be financed primarily by means of the European Social Fund. Extreme weather conditions pose an existential threat to people living on the streets, Senator Cansel Kiziltepe (SPD) announced. Heat is becoming an increasingly acute threat in times of advancing climate change.
