The Railway and Transport Union EVG expects the warning strike on Monday to result in work stoppages at 29 Berlin companies and "massive effects on rail traffic".
A total of several thousand railroad workers will take part in the warning strike in the region, the EVG local association announced on Saturday. The effects of the warning strike starting at midnight are expected to last throughout Monday.
Deutsche Bahn will completely suspend S-Bahn and regional train services in Berlin and Brandenburg on Monday. There will be no Deutsche Bahn trains in either state from the start of the work stoppages, the company announced Friday. "Whether individual connections can be taken up in the course of the afternoon depends on the course of the strike," it said.
