Berlin prolongs Coronavirus aid for cultural scene

Cultural projects in Berlin can count on an extension of certain aid as a result of the Corona pandemic. On Tuesday, the Senate decided to expand the "Perspektive Kultur" program.

Through the Emergency Aid IV grant program, more than 200 culture and media companies were supported with around 42 million euros from mid-2020 to the middle of this year. This was intended to support a restart of cultural operations after the pandemic. Due to the continuing economic impact of the pandemic, support will continue to be provided to cultural and media companies that are affected by acute liquidity bottlenecks, for example.

New hardship provision until the end of 2023

On the other hand, a new hardship scheme for companies that have already received funding and for individual companies in the event of a proven lack of funds is intended to help. A maximum of 500,000 euros per funding period of three months will be available.
