The demand for the 29-euro subscription to Berlin's public transport system is high. Since the start of sales on Monday, around 30,000 new subscriptions have been sold, the company announced on Friday.
Many interested people used the online booking system. But the BVG customer centres are also much busier than usual. Especially in the coming week it will be crowded there. According to BVG, those who want to avoid long queues should take out their subscription online. The Berlin S-Bahn did not provide any current sales figures on Friday. Shortly after the launch of the 29-euro subscription, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday that four-digit numbers of orders had been received.
The 29-euro monthly ticket is valid in Berlin for tariff zones A and B during the months of October, November and December. The Senate had introduced the offer as a successor solution to the 9-Euro-Ticket, which was supposed to relieve passengers for three months in the summer. Currently, the federal and state governments are negotiating the financing of a new nationwide offer.
