Giffey: Gorbachev made German reunification possible

On the occasion of the death of former Soviet leader Mikhail contribution to the reunification of Germany.

Gorbachev was a remarkably courageous statesman, Giffey tweeted on Wednesday. "His clever policies were instrumental in ending the Cold War and bringing down the Iron Curtain. In doing so, Gorbachev made the path to German unity possible." Giffey stated that people in East Germany in particular owed much to the Russian politician. Gorbachev had died on Tuesday evening in Moscow at the age of 91.
