Final of the 2024 European Football Championship in Berlin

Olympic Stadium

The winner's trophy of the 2024 European Football Championship (UEFA 2024) stands in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

As in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the final of the 2024 UEFA European Championship will take place in Berlin's Olympic Stadium.

The great final will kick off in the capital on July 14, 2024. The opening match of the tournament will be played by the DFB selection in Munich on June 14. "The European Championship at home will make this major event even more emotional than it already is," said tournament director Philipp Lahm after the European Football Union UEFA announced the match schedule on Tuesday (May 10, 2022).

Munich and Berlin: same pairing as for the 2006 World Cup

Munich and Berlin as the locations for the start and finale provide the same setting as at the 2006 World Cup, when the pairing was already "the ideal combination," said DFB President Bernd Neuendorf. "Munich was a perfect host for the pan-European Championship last year, and Berlin has a long tradition as a venue for the final. The Olympic Stadium provides a worthy setting for the DFB Cup final every year."

European Championship quarter-finals also in Berlin

The two semi-finals will be hosted in Munich (July 09) and Dortmund (July 10). Hamburg and Stuttgart (both July 05) and Berlin and Düsseldorf (July 06) have been selected to host the quarter-finals. Other host cities besides Frankfurt are Gelsenkirchen, Cologne, and Leipzig.

Five matches and final in the capital

With the Olympic Stadium, Berlin will be the host city for a total of five games and the final at the 2024 European Championship. "We are looking forward to a great atmosphere, full stadiums and exciting games. Berlin is proud to host the final," said Berlin's Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey.
