Warning of gusts of wind on Friday

Anyone travelling in Berlin and Brandenburg today should be prepared for unpleasant weather: rain, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds are sweeping across the region.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the rain will move from the north through the centre to the south as the day progresses, and isolated storms may also occur.

Official warning between 11 am and 5 pm

Temperatures will rise to between 21 and 25 degrees. Weather experts warn that the wind could cause branches to fall and objects to be blown about. Freestanding items such as garden furniture, tents and tarpaulins should therefore be securely fastened. Anyone out and about should take particular care to watch out for falling branches. An official warning for gusts of wind is in place between 11 am and 5 pm. Wind speeds of up to 85 km/h are expected.

Warmer temperatures at the start of the week

Overnight into Saturday, skies may clear again in some areas. According to weather experts, Saturday will remain windy and changeable. There will be occasional rain, particularly in the north of Brandenburg. Temperatures will drop to between 20 and 23 degrees. On Sunday, it is set to be sunny to cloudy and dry. Temperatures will reach between 21 and 25 degrees. According to the forecast, the wind is expected to ease off significantly as the day progresses. It will get even a little warmer at the start of the week. On Monday, the DWD is forecasting sunny to cloudy and dry weather with temperatures of 25 to 28 degrees.
