The Petri Berlin Archaeology Lab brings history and archaeological research to life.

Petri Berlin is the capital's new archaeological laboratory. It is a unique cooperation between the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte (Museum for Prehistory and Early History) and the Berlin State Monuments Office. The laboratory invites visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of archaeology and discover Berlin's often hidden archaeological heritage.

Open Workshops at Petri Berlin

In the laboratory's glass workshops, interested visitors can look over the shoulders of archaeologists at work. They experience how archaeological finds are prepared for research and exhibition. A selection of important objects from Berlin soil archaeology complements the open workshop principle. They provide insights into the way of life of people in earlier eras.
