The SA Prison Papestraße memorial site still bears historical traces of the Nazi terror of 1933.

The building was originally constructed as a barracks for the Prussian Railway Regiments. From March to December 1933, however, it served as a concentration camp under SA command. Hundreds of people were imprisoned, interrogated, and tortured there. At least 30 died.

Permanent exhibition at the memorial site Papestraße

Since March 2013, the permanent exhibition at the SA Prison Papestraße memorial site has used eight chapters to explore the rise of National Socialism and the history of this historic site during the Nazi era. In addition, visitors gain insights into the basement rooms, which were used as prison cells and have been largely preserved.
