Behind the car sharing provider Miles is a Berlin start-up. About 300 cars of different vehicle types are lent. These can be borrowed from any station and driven throughout Germany.

Vehicles and equipment

Miles lends small cars such as the Audi A1 or the Toyota Yaris, as well as larger five-door cars such as the A3 or the Toyota CHR. And if you need a van, the Miles fleet is also a good choice: The provider provides vans in various sizes. The vans all drive with a gear shift, while the passenger cars have an automatic transmission.

Registration and Validation

In order to use Miles vehicles, customers must register on the provider's website or app. Once the e-mail address has been activated, the driver's licence must be verified. Two videos of or with the driver's license must be uploaded according to the app's instructions. Then you can get started.

How to rent and pricing

If you want to rent a car, you can use the app to find and reserve a suitable vehicle. A reservation is free for the first 30 minutes. After that, nine cents per minute are due. A car can be reserved a maximum of 12 hours in advance. If you want to make a stop while driving, you can park the car for 29 cents per minute and then continue driving.

The amount to be charged for the trip is the number of kilometres driven and not the rental period of the car. Minute are only charged for times when the car is blocked, but does not drive, such as a stopover. There are no costs for registration, refuelling or parking. An exception to this is for customers who do not have their driving licence for more than 12 months. As they belong to a risk group, they pay more.

If the journey is to be completed, the car must be properly parked in the business park and the rental process must be completed via the app. If you have to refuel in between, this can be done free of charge at Total and Aral. You will be charged by credit card or direct debit.
