Island Festival: 200 Years Museum Island

The Museum Island celebrates its 200th anniversary with a big festival weekend full of art and culture.

The big celebration on Museum Island is entering its second phase: To mark its 200th anniversary, Museum Island is once again hosting a two-day island festival (German: Inselfest). Visitors can look forward to a diverse program featuring special tours, drop-in workshops and hands-on activities that will continue into the evening hours.

One ticket for all museums

To celebrate the anniversary, the regular day pass grants access to all six museums on the island. Annual pass holders may bring one additional person for free during the anniversary weekend. Children and teenagers under 18 are admitted free of charge. The outdoor area is open to everyone.

Highlights*: 200 years of Museum Island

• Stage program in the Kolonnadenhof: The Deutsches Theater presents excerpts from "The Song of the Sperm Whale" and "Parzival".
• To celebrate its 125th anniversary, the Berlin Choral Association is hosting the "Dabei Open Air" on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
• The Bene Aperdannier Trio will perform in the Kolonadenhof on Saturday at 6 p.m.
• The Unter’n Linden Salon Orchestra, composed of members of the Staatskapelle Berlin, will open the stage program on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
• Mousse T., one of Germany's most internationally successful producers and DJs, will perform on Sunday at 7 p.m.
• Surprise Tours: A wide variety of tours offer new perspectives on the collections, architecture and history of Museum Island.
