After a break of several years, the Berliner Silvesterzug (Berlin New Year's Eve Train) is back and offers a unique opportunity to start the New Year on rails.

The journey on the historic Berlin S-Bahn train takes a total of three hours and passes through various neighborhoods in Berlin. In 2024, the journey began at Potsdamer Platz and first took the eastern Ringbahn to Schöneweide. From there it continued to Ostkreuz, where the train paused around midnight for a view of the fireworks. The round trip ended at Ostbahnhof at around 2 a.m. The ticket price included a welcome drink, a cold buffet and a pancake.
