The Klavierfest Weißensee piano festival is an annual classical music event. Each year, the festival focuses on a different renowned composer.
The 4th Berlin-Weißensee Piano Festival in 2026 was dedicated to the Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt. Through his arrangements of Beethoven’s symphonies, Schubert’s lieder and operatic works by Wagner and Verdi, Franz Liszt made complex compositions accessible to a wide audience. The Klavierfest took up this approach and saw itself as a space for artistic reinterpretation, where music history becomes tangible and can be experienced across generations. Under the theme "Transformation: Departure – Metamorphosis – Unfolding," Eri Mantani, Katharina Treutler and Florian Noack presented selected works as well as their own arrangements over the course of three evenings. The program was complemented by a family concert and a moderated session on modern salon music.
