Spring festival at the Düppel Museum Village

Fire blazes in a fire bowl

With fairy tales, music, dance and fire, the Düppel Museum Village opens the season and chases away the winter.

As a symbol of winter, straw dolls are carried through the village in ceremonial processions and sacrificed to the flames. This is accompanied by singing and music. This custom already existed in the Middle Ages. The Düppel Open-Air Museum cordially invites everyone to welcome spring.

Entertainment for young and old

The spring festival in the Düppel Museum Village attracts young visitors with jugglers and storytellers who convey the custom of driving out the winter in a child-friendly way. The band Wolgemut provides musical entertainment. In addition, the fairytale witch Silberzweig and the juggler Astor Ytellar tell stories about the Brandenburg tradition of winter driving. Hungry guests can also look forward to freshly baked bread and other delicacies.
