Fashionpalooza: Show area for fashion labels

During the festival, part of Olympiapark Berlin was transformed into an interactive show area where hip fashion labels opened up a small fashion city. In addition, hip fashion brands, lifestyle brands and fashion newcomers staged themselves at Fashionpalooza.

The Kidzapalooza is a special programme for the festival guests between the ages of 0 and 14. On both festival days the Kidzapalooza offers a ball pit, a meadow where kids can crawl, child-friendly performances and workshops for the youngest music fans. The popular Klopapierschlacht (toilet paper battle) will take place again in 2020. Kids can also try their hand at urban gardening, kick with Hertha players, boulder or mime with the DJ.

About the festival

Launched in 1991 by Jane's Addiciton singer Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza takes place every summer in Chicago with more than 160,000 visitors. Traditionally, international top acts like Eminem, Beastie Boys, Nick Cave, Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Lady Gaga, but also lesser known artists play there. "Lollapalooza is the place where newcomers become legends and return to the legends to prove their fame," said festival founder Farrell.

From the airport to the racetrack and Olympiapark Berlin

In 2015 the Lollapalooza celebrated its European premiere at the Tempelhofer Feld. Because refugees were accommodated there, a new place had to be found. In 2016 the second Lollapalooza rose in Berlin. The venue was the Treptower Park in the Alt-Treptow district. In 2017 the Hoppegarten racecourse was the venue for the festival. 2018 and 2019 were celebrated in the Olympic Stadium and Olympiapark. In 2020, the organisers want to build on the success of the event at the same location.
