The Berliner Theatertreffen ("Berlin Theatre Encounter") is the most important theatre festival in Germany, reuniting actors, theatre professionals, journalists and guests from all over the world in Berlin

The Berliner Theatertreffen presents all different forms of theater from dance to puppetry, musical theater and theatrical installations. Workshops, evening events, guest performances and readings of new plays are also on the agenda. The festival takes place for the 60th time in 2023.

Discover the Best New Plays

At the heart of the Theatertreffen each year are the ten most remarkable productions, selected by an independent jury of critics from around 400 performances of the season. Theatre fans will be able to watch the ten plays nominated by the jury on stream.

Supporting Program

A rich supporting program complements the showcase of the best German-language theatre. Discussions with renowned guests from the worlds of culture, politics and business will draw connections between the theatre world and current sociopolitical issue. Award ceremonies, audience discussions, premiere parties and concerts will also attract many theatre fans to the venue at Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

Ticket Presale in 2023

The official program and schedule for the Theatertreffen is expected to be published in April 2023. Advance ticket sales are also expected to begin in April.
