The Pergamon Museum on Museum Island will reopen its doors in June 2027 after several years of renovation.

Following the completion of the first major phase of renovation, the north wing and the central building of the Pergamon Museum will reopen to the public in June 2027. After more than ten years, visitors will once again be able to view, among other things, the iconic Pergamon Altar. The Museum of Islamic Art will also be presenting its collection in a new way, including the Aleppo Room, the Mschatta Façade and the Alhambra Dome. The Vorderasiatisches Museum (Near East Museum) is featuring a "preview" in the Schlütersaal that offers a glimpse of the planned new presentation set to open in 2037.

Modernization and restoration

As part of the renovation, the building and its technical infrastructure were modernized, accessibility was improved, parts of the collection were restored and the exhibition concepts were revised.
