Two Berlin nightlife luminaries are behind the Trompete. It was opened in April 2000 by actor Ben Becker and Dimitri Hegemann, a mastermind of the techno scene and co-founder of the Tresor in Mitte.
At the time, a new club in the west of the city was seen as a delightful way to burn money. In the meantime, the bar, which is only open three days a week and features live music and the occasional star actor, has established itself.
Inside, Che Guevara has set up camp in a small display case, and so a communist freedom fighter and society's top performers sound the trumpet together, as many workaholics and business travelers drop by from the surrounding hotels in search of relaxation. The night starts early here on Thursdays, with DJs getting down to business at the "After Work Lounge" from 9 p.m.
